WETV LOVE AFTER LOCKUP SEASON TWO [PREMIERE + REVIEW] Tuesday 18 December, 2018
WETV came to Atlanta recently to host a pre-screening of one of their hit reality show’s, Love After LockUp for Season 2. This is a new series now on my radar and I was happy to get a first look at Season 2 of the show! Thank you WETV for inviting me as an exclusive Atlanta influencer and check out a little of my recap and review of the show.

WE tv, in partnership withStarandOK!, pre-screened theseason twopremiere episode of their hit docu-series, “LoveAfterLockup” for VIP’s, influencers & fans in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York. The second season of “LoveAfterLockup” will follow six couples, who fell in love and got engaged while one was incarcerated. At each screening, guests were able to enjoy concessions courtesy ofWE TV, StarandOK!. Following the screenings, there were cast/audience Q&A’s moderated by Casey Madden(OK! Magazine) withKate Farrell(WE tv VP, Original Programming),Lauren Gellert(WE tv VP, EVP Development and Original Programming),Dr. Ish, Matt Sharp(Sharp Productions)and Dan Adler(Sharp Productions).Season two of the hit franchise “LoveAfterLockup” returns to WE TV with more fun, hardships, family drama and relationship challenges on Friday, December 7th at 9/8C.

About “LoveAfterLockup” Season 2 The second season of LoveAfterLockup will follow 6 couples, who fell in love and got engaged while one was incarcerated. We will meet each couple just prior to the jailed partner’s release and follow them on their journey to –potentially –the marriage altar. In S2 the debate between true love v. scam will be even more pronounced, and the “firsts” will be even more abundant–first touch, first kiss, moving in together, meeting the family, etc… Between the stories we follow and the way we follow them (from visually dramatic releases to raw shocking reveals), S2 will amplify the best elements of LAL and take us down new paths of love, mystery, heartbreak, and drama. While each of our couples has their own unique stories, all of them will be going through the same journey over the season—from prison to the altar.
My thoughts: I will be honest, I was pretty skeptical on how entertaining this show would be. I am not about drama reality tv, but this is not just drama – these storylines are crazy. I didn’t even think about a world of people who are actually finding love with people who are incarcerated. I know it sounds nuts, but everyone needs love too right?
Well you got your cases of people falling in love with inmates on their sex appeal, people falling in love with an inmate and possibly the inmate is using someone for financial gain only, and then we have a really interesting case; someone looking to lose their virginity to their inmate lover and marry them. Ok that one was a little much for me. A 28 year old virgin who is also engaged to her inmate fiance and saving herself for him when he gets out. I want to tell you more about this girl and that story alone, but lets just say DONT DO IT GIRL!
Mostly all of the couples who are on this show are looking towards marriage, moving in and really starting a new life when they are all getting release and the cameras will be rolling to see it all unfold. I will be following this series, I have to see how far these relationships will go.

I don’t really know much about this show but it sounds interesting. I could probably get into it. I wonder how successful the relationships are after they are free again?
I have not heard of this show until now. It does look interesting. I am planning to binge watch on the day after Christmas so you can be sure I will check this show out.
I have watched this show and I dont get it. It aint no way in hell I would marry, date, talk, look at, or make eye contact with anyone who has been in jail but hey if these folk like I love it.

This scenario plays out every time someone is released from prison. I’m glad that someone finally decided to put eyes (REAL EYES) on this situation. It’s reality tv, but it’s also educational. Glad to see that there is something good coming out of reality tv for a change.
