A Parade of Dreams: 100 High School Students Bring Disney Magic to Walt Disney World Resort for Class of 2024! Friday 05 April, 2024
In a land where dreams take flight, 100 high school students embarked on an enchanting journey at the Disney Dreamers Academy, finding themselves in a mesmerizing parade at Walt Disney World Resort. Imagine the joy as they paraded through Magic Kingdom Park.
They we’re accompanied by the radiant presence of actress Dara Reneé, known for her roles in ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ and the upcoming ‘Descendants: The Rise of Red,’ serving as the program’s illustrious “Dreambassador” to guide and inspire these young dreamers. Alongside beloved Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Princess Tiana, the atmosphere was alive with magic and promise.
This spectacular parade marked the grand commencement of the 17th year of the Disney Dreamers Academy, a transformative five-day mentorship program designed to ignite passions and open doors for talented Black high school students and teens from underrepresented communities nationwide. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort, this event heralded a celebration of diversity, growth, and opportunity, inviting these bright minds to dare to dream bigger than ever before.
Selected from a pool of thousands of applicants, these 100 students found themselves at the heart of a life-changing experience, generously sponsored by AT&T, Sprite, and Delta Airlines. Through a blend of workshops, seminars, and interactions with this year’s celebrities are Daymond John (‘ABC’s Shark Tank’), Hollywood actor Lance Gross and reality TV star Sanya Richards-Ross (‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’), these aspiring dreamers are set to discover their true potential and set forth on a path towards their brightest aspirations.
