Exclusive Interview with the Voices of Disney/Pixar Incredibles 2: Frozone (Samuel L.Jackson) #Incredibles2Event Tuesday 12 June, 2018

I was hosted and sponsored with an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles to cover #Incredibles2Event #PixarFest #BigCityGreensEvent. Thank you Disney for the opportunity!

So definitely the highlight of my Incredibles 2 Event trip with Disney had to be meet the iconic Samuel L. Jackson! I couldn’t believe I got the opportunity to meet and interview with him to talk about his returning voice role as Frozone in Disney/Pixar Incredibles 2. He was such a fun interview and just he is just as chill (no pun intended) and funny in person. He even signed my Funko Pop! Also he might off said one of his famous quotable curse words in this interview. Check out the “cool” interview with him below!

Would he like for Frozone to have his own movie?

Samuel L. Jackson:    Oh, I always like seeing a movie with myself in it!  Anything starring me is a good idea, so yeah.

How much did he relate to Frozone? We assumed he would be more like his animated character and got a good laugh at his answer.

Samuel L. Jackson: Really? I’d be shooting ice, not fire, I’m not hot like that? Oh I see, I see- oh. Oh fire is for the Black Panther guy. Old guys get to be cool, not hot. That’s a little ageism, I’m feeling a little #MeToo about that.  Of course but it would be like, what is it, dry ice. It’ll burn you when you touch it.

We know that your power in the movie is ice even though you’re hot in real life, but what is your real life superpower?

Samuel L. Jackson:    Earning money for my wife and daughter!  …surviving thirty-eight years of marriage.  Yeah, that’s the superpower!

Let get real. We all know Samuel L. Jackson for his favorite f-bomb that seems to be his signature. How did cursing become apart of his legacy?

It’s who I am. I have talked like that my whole life. I stuttered really badly when I was a kid and one of the mechanisms to stop the pp-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p was MOTHER*****R! Then I could just say what I had to say, and sort of flowed over into the rest of my life.

I got reported by someone on Twitter for using that word, but Twitter said I was fine. I’ve been doing it since I got on Twitter. My first tweet had that word in it! They assured me it’s fine.

I personal asked him if he could freeze any moment in time which era would he freeze?

Samuel L. Jackson: For me or for the world?  Hmm for me.  Hmm I need to be pain free and ooh.  You know what, like early seventies, I was in New York 1976 Halloween, when we got to New York City when, you know, we started this marvelous journey that we, you know, were ready to conquer the world and be the best actors on the planet.

And my wife and I thought we were going to be Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. But it was a vibrant time in New York, there were so many of us there.  And it was a great time for work, and comrade-ship and all the people that we met, Morgan (Freeman), Alfre (Woodward), Denzel (Washington), and Phish and Wesley (Snipes), and everybody was there working.  And we all worked together, we ate together, we went to auditions together, we went to the same unemployment office when we weren’t working, but, you know, vibrant times and learning times.

Which, you know, cemented some really great friendships and just the challenge of being on stage with those people and wanting to be better, wanting to be good, and making all those things happen. That kind of makes us who we are on screen, for everybody.  We had all that discipline and all that, you know, working together and learning how to be an ensemble and not just out shine everybody who’s around you.  Sometimes you can’t help it, because the other people aren’t so good, but being there and being in that time, that would be great.

Did you know Samuel L Jackson requires now an action figure be made of him when he does certain films? Here’s why…

Samuel L. Jackson: When I did Jurassic Park, they made action figures for everyone but my character. After that, I kind of insisted on it.

Samuel L. Jackson is no stranger to the superhero universe. He also plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Universe and he was asked how he likes playing him over Frozone.

Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone & Nick Fury. Nick Fury is returning to the MCU in March, 2019 in “Captain Marvel“

Samuel L.Jackson: use he’s got super powers, but Nick Fury’s power is persuasion. He’s able to talk people into doing all kinds of things; getting and recruiting people. I’m having a great time being Nick Fury, especially in Captain Marvel, because Brie (Larson) and I are really good friends after we did Kong together. She and I are really good friends and I enjoy watching the ascendence of young actors. She’s so special and just so good.

Outside of being just a super talented person, she’s very concerned about what’s going on around her and she’s outspoken about women’s issues. And I think that’s really, really, really great. People are constantly trying to separate us from our ordinary lives. We’re actors, but we live in the world and we’re affected by the same thing that’s affecting everybody else.

CHILLING OUT – Frozone is back in “Incredibles 2,” cooler than ever and lending a helping hand when the Parrs need him most. Speaking of superheros, he was asked if he knew he was going to spend the next decade-plus in superhero world after the original Incredibles film?

Samuel L Jackson:  Well you know, it’s like I said, people have been asking where where where where where is it where is it where is it where is it because according to the way the last one ended, everybody just assumed there was going to be another one.  And Brad (Bird) went off and started doing real people movies. And I don’t think they wanted to put it in the hands of anybody else.  And it’s also one of those things where the first movie was so perfect, and so awesome, that you got to say to yourself… ‘Can we really do something that awesome and just a little bit more awesome the next time so it justifies us doing a sequel?’  And I think they accomplished it. The movie is kind of awesome.  And this dude gets to show off.

Out of Samuel L.Jackson long list of iconic movies, we asked him which one was his ultimate favorite film?

Samuel L.Jackson: My favorite?  Oh Long Kiss Goodnight.  Yeah a movie that’s really an underrated film.  That the studio didn’t quite know what to do with because women weren’t bad asses in that time.  And they didn’t think women wanted to see it- they didn’t think men wanted to see women be bad asses at that time, so they didn’t know how to market that movie, but it’s since gained a really great cult favorite, because I mean Geena is awesome in that movie, she is so awesome, it was great.  But that’s it.

What a true honor to be in the same room and interview Samuel L. Jackson. Took this group photo, and he got really comfy with me (arm on my shoulder). We all couldn’t stop laughing in the interview. I literally been a fan of his since Coming to America and I was practically a baby when that film came out!

So if you don’t know I collect Funko Pops. Its a serious thing for me, so right after our group photo, I kindly asked Mr. Jackson if he could please sign my box. He said sure and now I have this beautiful keepsake of Frozone Pop! with his signature. Selfies are cool, but something is so pure about a celeb autograph! If you ever get a chance to read this Mr.Jackson, Uncle Sammy (lo) thank you again for signing this! Frozone has found his supersuit and will return where he left off in Incredibles 2. Check out the trailer below!

Disneyland + PixarFest is doing a lot of celebration in honor of the upcoming Incredibles 2 film coming up. The Incredible Family is featured at the Pixar Parade, The Nighttime Spectacular show and on the new upcoming Incrediocoaster at the Pixar Pier. Check out the trailer and stayed tune for my Incredible 2 movie review!
