NBCS TAKEN Press Dinner with Brooklyn Sudano & Gaius Charles Wednesday 08 February, 2017
Hi guys! I got a great opportunity to attend another personal press dinner for the upcoming NBC’s series Taken. Special dinner guest included stars of TAKEN Brookyln Sudano and Gaius Charles to take with me intimately about this amazing I really love when I have these press dinners because it gives me a chance to get the stars up close and personal and be in tuned with what the show is about. I get a chance to see the full pilot episodes (and a few episodes after that) to see for myself how thrilling this show will be, and let me just say from the JUMP, your heart will be racing. Yup it’s that kind of show where every episode you gotta know what is going to happen next!!
The series explores the formative years of Bryan Mills and the reasons he begins the journey to become a deadly CIA operative. This is not a TV version of the film – this Bryan Mills is younger, rough-around-the-edges and years away from becoming the father seen in the films. Check out the trailer to learn more about the first episode.
- In the series premiere (“Pilot”), the murder of Bryan Mills’ sister launches him into a dangerous mission for revenge against a deadly drug cartel boss. A top-secret US intelligence agency, led by Christina Hart, secretly uses Bryan as bait to expose the cartel, and in the end recruits Bryan to become a part of their team. The series features stunt, weapon and combat sequences that rival the cinematic action and storytelling of a feature film. But while the series is an action-packed show, its essence lies in the characters – how and why they interact.
The team is highly trained, each with their own unique “special set of skills.” Each episode reveals more of what the individual members bring to the team, and how their relationships were formed.
Gaius Charles plays John, a member of the special opps team and Hart’s right-hand man. He is a natural-born leader, methodical and ferociously loyal. He’s also a reformed gang member.
Brooklyn Sudano plays ASHA, a strong and driven young lawyer. She is the roommate of Bryan’s sister, and turns to him for support and comfort after a tragedy upends their lives.
It was a nice intimate round table discussion with the two stars as we talked about how action packed this series will be. They came to Atlanta during Superbowl week, so they both agree they were #TeamFalcons in honor of being in the city.
They both took this role because it is outside of the box of what they normally do and it really challenges their acting range and abilities. The are both fans of the original movie trilogy and you all will be surprised to know that yes both of them did some of their own stunts.
Thank you NBC’s for bringing Brookyln and Gauis to Atlanta. They were very fun to talk, engaging and I really do have a feel for how the action-based show will be. Cant wait to see how both character’s story evolve over time. I am too excited!
