Disney + is doing a great job with the streaming selections they have on their platforms. I recommend to you to stream The One and Only Ivan which is now streaming on Disney +.
An adaptation of the award-winning book about one very special gorilla, Disney’s “The One and Only Ivan” is an unforgettable tale about the beauty of friendship, the power of visualization and the significance of the place one calls home. Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and various other animals. Ivan has few memories of the jungle where he was born, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ivan begins to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be. The heartwarming adventure, which comes to the screen in an impressive hybrid of live-action and CGI, is based on Katherine Applegate’s bestselling book, which won numerous awards upon its publication in 2013, including the Newbery Medal.
The movie stars Sam Rockwell as the voice of Ivan; Angelina Jolie as the voice of Stella; Danny DeVito as the voice of Bob the dog; Helen Mirren as the voice of Snickers the poodle; Brooklynn Prince as the voice of Ruby; Ramon Rodriguez as the mall employee George; Ariana Greenblatt as George’s daughter Julia; Chaka Khan as the voice of Henrietta the chicken; Mike White as the voice of Frankie the seal; Ron Funches as the voice of Murphy the rabbit; Phillipa Soo as the voice of Thelma the parrot; and Bryan Cranston as Mack, the circus attraction’s owner. “The One and Only Ivan” is directed by Thea Sharrock from a screenplay by Mike White based on Applegate’s book and is produced by the late Allison Shearmur, Angelina Jolie and Brigham Taylor. Sue Baden-Powell and Thea Sharrock serve as executive producers.
This is truly an all star cast. I got an opportunity to have a ZOOM press conference with the stars and director where you can read here. I am still star struck from being in the same ZOOM ROOM as all of these stars. What a press junket!
My review: This film was so touching and emotional. I love the CGI of this film and the animals look realistic. The message of this film is deep and we truly should have a compassionate energy for animals. The bond between the animals were cute and it was so fun to hear some of my favorite actors voices these characters. There personalities shined, even though they transformed themselves into animal form.
Adults and children alike will love this film. It will touch your soul. If you are an animal lover, this will pull at your heart-strings and make you feel instant empath for Ivan and friends. Its a memorable story based on a true story and to see this brought to life, gives me a new perspective of our fellow animals. They do have feelings too.

This is a really nice and helpful review! Earlier, I used to go through movie review sites to catch a new released movie in cinema halls but now the trends are changing ! People would not like to waste time munching at pop corn and watching a webseries unless it’s highly recommended!
what a fun looking movie. i always love when i see broadway stars listed as v/o actors for disney movies. just look at idina and kristen. now we have philippa from hamilton and amelie. very cool. the zoom conference sounds like it was wonderful.
As an animal lover, I am really looking forward to seeing this film. Everything I have heard so far agrees with your review on how great this movie is. I haven’t as yet read the book either, so I am looking forward to enjoying The One and Only Ivan on a couple of levels.

I went from never watching Disney plus to never turning it off. I saw the trailer for this and it looks really good. I’m a huge Brian Cranston fan and this looks good. Will check it out for sure!
