Event Recap: Black Bride Showcase 2013 Tuesday 19 February, 2013

I attended the Black Bride Boutique Style Bridal Showcase and it was amazing! I have attended a bridal showcase in the past, but this time I was a media correspondent for the event and it was lovely! Although wedding bells are not in my immediate future (yet), it was a very enjoyable experience and inspiration for future nuptials.

My Blogging group Blog Fab Fashionista’s aka BFFS were invited to do media coverage and live social media updates of the events, and boy did we have a great time. We were treated to our very own Blogger Something Blue Media Lounge (provided by The Image Collection) and it was nothing short of breathtaking!

In the Blogger Something Blue Media Lounge the BFF ladies & I got a chance to meet Atlanta’s V103 midday radio personality & HGTV’s “Property Virgins” host Egypt Sherrod (@EgyptSaidSo).

Also in the Blogger Something Blue Media Lounge I met BET’s Sunday Best season two finalists Jeff Spain (@IAMJeffSpain). Very sweet and humble guy who sat down and chatted with the BFFs about life after Sunday’s Best.  Currently Jeff  Spain is now a star in Centric’s Reality Spin-Off “Almost Married”. I hope Mr. Spain saw some great bridal inspiration to share with his soon to be wife!

Lots of bridal vendors to showcase new trends and inspiration for upcoming 2013 weddings.

I stopped by the Sheen Magazine (@sheenmagazine) booth, the Ultimate Beauty Guide that exemplifies the premiere life style and fashion of the modern woman. They gave away complimentary magazines had a feature story of the Black Bride experience in their latest issues. Sheen Magazine can be found at your local  Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, Target, Walmart, & Walgreens!

The highlight of the Black Bride Showcase was of course the bridal fashion show. It started off with a mock wedding complete with mother & father of the bride, ring bearer & flower girl and of course the bride and groom. It was a stunning sight to watch as all of the models played the part well while giving us modern bridal fashion visuals.

Here Comes the Bride

This was a very realistic bridal ceremony indeed. I almost wanted to tear up (seriously).  Oh and don’t even get me started on the bridal dress, it was straight out of a fairy-tale (swoon)!

After the bride & groom went on their merry way to happily ever after land, the real fashion show began! It was a fashionable sight to see with so many bridal variations of culture, high couture, hints of blue, black & white and more! Check out the pictures below and see for yourself.

The BFFs very own ChaKiva Felder (a.k.a Spoiled Diva) did a dynamic job working the runway in this beautiful wedding dress number. The BFFs were definitely cheering her on and giving lots of love and support! She worked that dress!

This Black Couture wedding gown stole the entire show! Would you dare to wear black at you’re wedding? Bold Indeed!

The BFFs definitely enjoyed ourselves watching the bridal fashion runway  a la Sex and the City front row style.

::Sigh:: I am not a bride-to-be yet but I appreciate the chance to look at all of the bridal vendors and wedding designs to be inspired for my own dream come true tale in the future. Who knows, maybe next Black Bride Showcase I will be looking for my own inspiration ::wink wink::
