48 HOURS IN CHARLESTON,SC : CRUISING IN THE 2018 FORD ECO SPORT Tuesday 28 August, 2018

If you have been reading the blog recently, you will know I went on my first roadtrip to Charleston,SC with my friend Saskia. Charleston is very charming, cute, southern but with a lot of cute little things to do. We did a quick 48 hour trip in the quaint city as we drove from Atlanta to Charleston in the new 2018 Ford Eco-Sport. I travel a lot for long period of time, but sometimes trips can be quick and easy if you have a few days to spare.

Charleston is definitely one of those cities where you can explore a lot and enjoy yourself if you just need a quick getaway. Check out some of my suggestions you can do in 48 hours while visiting Charleston,SC.

ACCOMODATIONS: THE COTTAGES ON CHARLESTON HARBOR

First if you ever think about doing a quick trip to Charleston, but want a little more of an experience than just a hotel stay I would highly suggest The Cottages on Charleston Harbor. The Cottages on Charleston Harbor, located on the water’s edge of the beautiful Charleston Harbor the ideal summer getaway for families in one of America’s most celebrated cities.Upscale accommodations in a beautiful two bedroom, three-bath harbor front cottage with an oversized screen porch that overlooks the Charleston Harbor. Read more on my luxurious stay at The Cottages on Charleston Harbor here.

DINNER AT THE DARLING

The night you come into Charleston and if you are looking for a cute modern dinner spot I would 1st recommend The Darling Oyster Bar. The ambiance is very chic and sophisticated for a seafood place. Housed in a lovingly restored, 115-year-old storefront, we strive for “instant classic” status. Grab a stool at the 14-seat raw bar fronting bustling King Street. Settle into a table full of deliciousness. Or perch beside the full-service bar. Read more about my experience and what I ate at The Darling here.

LUNCH AT KITCHEN 208

=

What I loved about Kitchen 208 is that you don’t have to wait for Sunday Brunch to have a mimosa. Everyday you can have a mimosa breakfast or lunch at Kitchen 208 on their outdoor patio. Speaking of the patio, on nice days if you are on King St. this is the only place in Downtown Charleston King St. area where you can enjoy an outdoor patio with plenty of shading. INSTAGRAMWORTHY PHOTOSHOOT ON RAINBOW ROW

Now Rainbow Row is a social media/Instagram/photography lovers dream. If you love taking cute photo ops in different city and need an Instagramworthy spot to find, this is the hot spot. Rainbow Row is a literally a row of pastel colored homes/buildings that are flirty and charming as it’s city. Its a popular spot, especially for photography tourist so make your way down here and have a colorful photoshoot!

HEALTHY HAPPY HOUR AT BASIC KITCHEN

Charleston has a plethora of places to eat, but if you want to have more health conscious option I definitely recommend Basic Kitchen. I fell in love with the minimalist earthy but a blend of modern and vintage decor in this homely atmosphere. You can get smoothies, fruit juices and even cocktails here. They also have a mostly vegan food menu to indulge in.

DINNER AT QUEEN 82

I particularly loved having dinner at Queen 82 because I felt like I walked into NOLA in the middle of Charleston. You can dine indoor, but my theme of most of my trip is to eat outdoors and their setup outside was a cute little oasis. Looks like I am in the French Quarters, which will give you a foreshadowing of the food menu to come. Learn more about Queen 82 and what I ate here.

BRUNCH AT 492

Anytime I travel to a new city on a Sunday I always love finding out their brunch scene. 492 was an amazing Sunday brunch spot where you can have your brunch like a New Yorker. The entire restaurant give you a contemporary modern feel of a city experience right in the south. The atmosphere and menu gave me NYC vibes, especially with their brunch options. Check out my brunch experience at 492 and see what I ate here.

As you can see Saskia and I had a lot of fun in Charleston within 48 hours. It wouldn’t have been a great roadtrip without the fun ride we were able to cruise around Charleston in the new 2018 Ford Eco-Sport compact SUV.
