{Travel By Kiwi} Travel Divas hit the Road to Essence Fest | Hilton Riveside New Orleans Friday 10 July, 2015
Guess what guys?! Yes I took another roadtrip and another fun summer trip with the Travel Divas. If you recall last month, I went on my first international trip to Cancun with this fun agency and this is my second summer trip with them. I have a few more trips but lets talk about my road to Essence with them! We filled a big charter bus of divas (and a few divos) en route to one of the biggest Music Festivals in the nation at Essence Festival. We boarded this bus from Atlanta to go to New Orleans.
On the bus its like one big party! There is unlimited drinks, some ice breaks and giveaway game so it will be a fun interactive ride! We had to get these divas excited for the road ahead of them!
My friend Nakeisha was my Travel Diva partner! New Orleans is her favorite city and she has been to Essence Fest several times so I am happy she was able to go with me!
The Travel Divas booked us all accommodations at The Hilton Riverside in New Orleans. This was my first time at this hotel and in this section of New Orleans. This hotel was conveinently near the convention center where all of the Essence Festival activities were happening at. It was very close walking distance so it was perfect accomodations for all the actions. I had many friends who travels seperately outside of the Travel Divas trip and they didn’t get hotels as close. So if you are considering staying near the convention center for Essence, this hotel was perfect! The hotel was cute, it had it’s own cafe are where you can order coffee, Starbucks coffee, breakfast and treats throughout the day. I only utilized it a few times because I was so busy, but I loved the option of Starbucks on site!
Now the Travel Divas through an extra special party for the 4th an exclusive party at this fun bar called the Bourbon Cowboy. Conviently located on the famous street of Bourbon Street it was an open bar party for the traveling people! This was such a fun way to kick off the 4th having a bar literally to ourselves! Wha other travel agency do you know would make arrangement like that for you to have that kind of fun on a trip?
On all Travel Divas trips, there are Travel Diva goodies! No one ever leave a Travel Diva experience without a gift!
I have been to New Orleans several times…but I’ve never actually been on a Bourbon Street balcony! This was one of my bucketlist request to throw beads off Bourbon St…so checkmark for me! Bourbon Cowboy had beads for us to throwoff to the street patrons as well as Travel Divas were giving red bags away! Super fun!
Someone captured me doing my job for the Travel Divas which was being their social media correspodent for the whole weekend. So each Travel Divas trip I go on, I also manage their FB/Instagram accounts to show people all the live fun we are having. It’s a very fun job and I had a ball showcasing all the adventures in New Orleans. To see all the fun I socially documented check out their social media pages on FACEBOOK + INSTAGRAM also these hashtags #TRAVELDIVAS #TDESSENCEFEST
I had a ball again with the Travel Divas. This agency really knows how to have a good time outside of just booking a trip. It’s always an experience with memories and fun! I am so greatful I am a blogger ambassador for Travel Divas as I am experiencing trips for the first time and I am able to document the experience for you all as a new travel blogger. New York is up next and I can’t wait to share that journey with you all real soon!
